UK Scale-Up Visa

📌 What Is the UK Scale-Up Visa?

The UK Scale-Up Visa allows foreign professionals to work for rapidly expanding UK companies for a minimum of 6 months. Introduced in August ’22, it aims to assist UK businesses in accessing global talent.

🔍 How It Operates:

1️⃣ Approximately 34,000 UK businesses qualify as scale-up companies. To obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), they must maintain A-rated status on the approved UK sponsors list. Check out the official UK government list here:

2️⃣ There are approximately 428 eligible occupations under the Scale-Up Visa category. Our information is sourced directly from official UK government websites to ensure accuracy and transparency.

⏳ Key Highlights:

  • Flexibility to switch jobs after 6 months.
  • Extendable stay of up to 2 years.
  • Eligibility to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after spending 5 years on a Scale-Up Visa.

📋 Scale-Up Visa Requirements:

  • Job offer from an approved scale-up business (minimum 6 months).
  • A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from your employer.
  • Eligibility within your occupation.
  • Meeting the salary requirements (£34,600 per annum or the ‘going rate’).
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Adequate financial resources.

🆚 Scale-Up Visa vs. Skilled Worker Visa:

Both fall under the UK’s points-based immigration system and necessitate a sponsored job offer. However, Scale-Up Visa holders have the advantage of being able to switch jobs or employers after just 6 months without requiring a new sponsorship.

🚀 Quick Demonstration:

To illustrate, here’s a quick example: We found a recent opening for a Project Manager at AccessFintech, a listed sponsor. You can apply directly through their LinkedIn page. Surprisingly, this position was posted 2 months ago and has received only 24 applications.
